Frozen Brine Shrimp (roughly half a cube) every other day, and some sort of sinking pellet (shrimp pellet, algae wafer, etc) on the non frozen days as well as algae in the tank.

These were the first aquatic thing I attempted to breed. The tank I put them in was well established. I started with 20, and didn't notice any growth for about 3 months and then it seemed like my population quadrupled overnight.
