This fish is easy to keep and does very well in planted tanks. They like to graze on algae. Females are much larger than males. My tap water comes out of the tap at only 38ppm of TDS. I adjust the water chemistry after ever water change using 1 tsp per 10g of sodium bicarbonate for KH, 1 tsp per 10g of magnesium chloride and calcium chloride for GH for a total of 3 teaspoons of minerals. TDS is around 320ppm (+- 20) after water change and adding chemicals.
